Notifications
Open Settings → Notifications to set up how reminders reach you, change the reminders each event type starts with, and choose which emails you get.
Set up delivery
Under Notification channels:
- Browser notifications: Choose Set up in the browser where you want alerts, and allow notifications when the browser asks. The row then says On; choose Turn off to stop alerts in that browser. If it says Blocked, allow notifications for when.day in your browser's site settings.
- Email: The line under the channels names the address reminder emails go to. Change it in My account. If delivery is paused, an Email row says Delivery paused; choose Review to email us about restoring it.
Push and Email are separate. If Push is not set up, When does not send an email in its place. If a reminder is missing, follow A reminder did not arrive.
Change the default reminders
Default reminders lists every event type with the reminders its new events start with. Choose Edit beside a type to change them in that type's editor, the same one Settings → Event types opens. Event types at the top of the group goes to that page.
Events you have already created keep their own reminders. To change one event's reminders, set a reminder in its Notify field.
Daily digest
Turn on Daily digest to get one email a day listing the events that have a Digest notification. Send at sets the time, in your account time zone. Turn on Include new events to give every new event a Digest notification on its day.
Once the digest is on, Digest appears beside Push and Email in an event's Notify field. If an event has a Digest notification while the digest is off, its Notify field says so. Choose Turn on there to turn on the digest without leaving the event.
Emails from When
Under Emails from When, turn Product updates, Tips and inspiration, Offers and promotions, and Research invitations on or off. These switches do not affect event reminders, security messages, or calendar invitations.
Calendar invitations do not appear on this page. Answer them in your Inbox.
