Organize events with labels
Use labels for a project, person, or topic that spans event types. A Client A label can apply to meetings, flights, and payment reminders.
There are two kinds:
- Global labels are available in every calendar. Manage them in Settings → Labels.
- Calendar labels belong to one calendar. They only apply to its events, and everyone who can see the calendar can see them. Manage them in that calendar's editor; Settings → Labels lists only global labels.
Create a global label
Open Settings → Labels and choose Add label. Set its name and color, and add a description if useful. New global labels are on for every calendar.
Create a calendar label
Open the calendar's editor, expand Labels, and choose Label beside Only in (calendar). You can also type a new name in an event's label picker and choose Create "name" in (calendar).
Choose which global labels a calendar uses
Open the calendar's editor and expand Labels. Under Global, turn off any label the calendar doesn't use. It no longer appears in the label picker for that calendar's events. Labels already on an event stay on it.
Group related labels
Choose Add group, then pick the group when you add a label. A group organizes labels in the interface; apply the labels themselves to events.
Edit a label
Click a label's color or name to change it in place. Choose Edit for its description and the rest.
From an event, choose the pencil beside a label in the label picker, or Edit label... on a label the event already has. The label opens beside the event, which stays open.
Use a label
Open an event and choose labels in its Labels row. The picker lists the calendar's own labels first, then global labels. Open Filters to show matching events.
Delete a label
Choose the trash button beside a label, or Delete in its editor. Deletion removes its assignments from affected items and cannot be undone. Check how many label assignments will be removed before confirming. The events themselves are not deleted.
