Track bill and renewal dates
When reminds you about payments and keeps track of which ones you have paid. It does not pay bills or see your bank.
For subscriptions with a fixed monthly or yearly price, a Subscriptions calendar tracks renewals and totals your spending. For rent, utilities, and other bills, use Payment events:
- Create a Payment event on the due date. Put the amount in the title, such as
Rent · $2,400. - In Repeat, choose Every month, Every year, or Every… for another schedule. For a due date near the end of the month, look at the next few occurrences to confirm they land where you expect.
- In Notify, choose when the alert arrives and whether it comes by Push or Email. See Set a reminder.
- Lock the event so it cannot be dragged or archived by accident.
- Add an Event type widget set to Payment / Bill to keep upcoming bills in view.
- When you pay, right-click the payment and choose Mark paid, or open it and press
⌥X. Choose Skip this one for a month with nothing to pay.
You can ask the When agent which payments are due in a date range. It reads amounts from the event titles, so write them the same way on every payment, and check any total against your own records.
